Then he was young and healthy but lacked money and was not capable of indulging in good food. Now he is wealthy but old and sick and he is on diet. That is how fate wills!

Below is Gurudev’s rendering of song in English:

I know not how thou singest, my master

I ever listen in silent amazement.

Thy light of thy music illumines thy world.

The life breath of thy music runs from sky to sky.

The holy stream of thy music breaks through

On stony obstacles and rushes on.

My heart longs to join in thy song,

But vainly struggles for a voice. I would speak,

But speech breaks not into song, and I cry out baffled.

Ah, thou hast made my heart captive

In the endless meshes of thy music, my master!

harShasphIte bandhujane rudannahamavaataraM |
rudiShyati priyajane mRutirme&stu hasiShyatah  ॥

I descended crying while my relatives expanded with happiness. May my end be when I will be laughing and my loved ones will be crying.

This is a rendering in Sanskrit of an Urdu couplet.
